Senza Pensieri

Senza Pensieri is an eco-friendly company that creates customizable travel boxes, not only for air travels, but for road trips and train travels as well. The customers can create their own box depending on the kind of trip they are thinking about. Customers will be creating their own box by choosing from different items such as, faux leather passport/tickets holders and luggage tags, stainless steel folding toothbrushes and tins, recycled plastic bottles, shampoo, body wash and toothpaste tablets. Senza Pensieri is the word for carefree in Italian. I am Italian and the rest of the team was American, that is why we decided to combine the two languages, and also because the word in Italian better conveys the mission we were trying to accomplish with our company, making the life of travelers easier and less hectic. We needed to add a tagline in English to help customers fully understand what our company is about, given that not everyone speaks Italian in the U.S.

Logo

Since we don't want to limit our clients to only flying while traveling, in our logo sketches we experimented with different travel-themed icons such as, suitcases, luggage tags, passports and compasses. We want a very minimalist design to match the company mission, which is trying to make the life of travelers easier and carefree.

Digital Iterations

We explored different typeface options here, a mix of serif and sans serif layouts to see which one we like the most. We are also working with different layouts for the tagline and placement for the location pin. We are leaning towards having one sans serif and one serif for each logo name and tagline.

Typefaces, Colors, Graphic Standars and Final Logo

We settled on our typefaces and went for a bolder look for Senza Pensieri and a lighter sans serif for the tagline. The SP within the location pin is handwritten, to give a more personal touch to our company. Our color palette is made up of calming and relaxing colors, but for the final version of the logo we went for the darker blue for Senza pensieri, and the lighter one for the tagline and the location pin.

Packaging

In our sketches we explored some shipping box cutouts, ticket/passport holders designs, and different shapes for containers. We thought to add tablets for all our products to make things even easier so our clients can use them by just getting their hands wet. These tablets will be stored in the stainless steel tins.

Digital Iterations

We created die templates and digital iterations for the passport/tickets holder, luggage tag, folding toothbrush, bottles, tins, shipping box inside and outside, tablet replacement bag and a thank you card to send along with the items to thank our customers for the purchase. Materials:

Stainless steel: This will be used for the tins and the toothbrush holder, so the material can hold in water without rusting and it can be reused.

Recycled Plastic: This will be used for the containers or bottles that hold shampoo, conditioner, body wash, or whatever the customers want to put in them. This material also has less waste in the environment.

Natural cotton: This will be used for the tablets replacement bag. It is a natural material, good for the environment as well as renewable.

Faux Leather: This will be used for the passport and ticket holders. This material is not as expensive to source, and it is cheap to have replaced as well as being good for the environment because it is not real cow skin, so no cows will be harmed.

Thick Fiberboard (Paperboard): This will be used for the shipping boxes. This material is sturdy enough to last a really long time and not be damaged. It is also reusable.

Advertising

For the sketches, we focused on some ideas showing the products in paths and making it look similar to a travel path. We will be doing a full magazine spread, a poster that can be hung anywhere, and social media banners.

Interactive Media

We created a visual diagram to show the structure of our website and a user flow chart to show each step the user is going to take to complete the actions. We sketched some wireframes and explored different layouts trying to find the one that would suit our company and our mission better.

Digital Iterations

We kept the design of our website as simple as possible to guarantee the user an easy understanding on how the website works. We have a total of nine pages: Sign Up page, Profile page, Home page, three Shop pages, a Cart page and two Order pages. All the pages have the same background color except for one of the shop pages, the cart one and the two order pages. We changed the background to make the process more visually understandable and clean.
